John McCain: The Smear Monger

I follow the news on politics very closely. One observation that troubles me is John McCain’s pattern of low-rent attacks on Barack Obama. He clearly is operating at a disadvantage, which is evident by his incessant, and childish poking at Obama and his campaign platform.

Here are a few recent examples:

  • “Fortunately, Senator Obama failed, not our military. We rejected the audacity of hopelessness, and we were right.”
  • “It seems to me that Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign,”
  • “[Obama] failed to recognize the need to visit wounded combat troops, instead choosing to continue on with a schedule that included meeting with international leaders and fawning Germans.”

Really, these comments remind me of highschool character assasination by gym room bullies, not that of a person with the intellectual credential to be president.  President George W. Bush’s lack of intellect has already cost us enough. We cannot afford another stupid president. (Yes, I think Bush is stupid, as I do McCain.) Any reasonably minded person would smell the despararity in McCain’s latest attacks.  Obama is not anti-American patriotism is not the issue.  Arguing someone’s patriotism is an argument for those who cannot handle the cognative challenges of more complex thinking or issues.

McCain is off platform and not speaking to issues.  His intent is to sell fear about his openent, right out of the Rove manual. In the end, I truely believe McCain to be a status quo republican who is very much out of touch with the nation and the times. He is not mentally or ethically suited to be the next President and will likely further the downword momentum our nation faces economically and internationally.

In my humble opinion, McCain lost all respect from me in the last two weeks and no matter the situation, I will rather vote for a third party than McCain.

  2. What polls are you looking at? I see Obama with a lead in the latest published polls:

  3. I don’t think McCain has ever led in any national poll.

  4. As of 9/12/2008 McCain is leading in some of the national polls! Fred must be a clairvoyant!

  5. Well, that McCain poll lead is all but gone with his tripping on in short intellect in the last week. I knew McCain would trip up as he always does.
