Gas Saving Tips Better Than a Gas Tax Holiday

With all the talk about the gas tax holiday idea from McCain and the other forms of big oil company subsidization by Barrack McBama, I decided that I was going to write an article about saving gas money by following a handful of useful tips. While researching myths such as driving 55 mph instead of the national speed limit of 65 mph, I stumbled across a website that has already put together an excellent list of gas saving tips! And to top it off, they have pictures of attractive women in the article (which is much more than what I was going to put together). So go enjoy topics such as:

  • Don’t fly flags on your car - Sorry Lakers fans, show your LA pride some other way
  • Do not fill your tank up completely - Less weight to carry around with your car. Won’t save you much, and won’t work if you are driving a long distance in the middle of the desert
  • Fill your tank at the coolest time of day - Perhaps my favorite! Absolutely brilliant. It’s #7 on the list, you don’t want to miss it!
  • Should you avoid excessive idling?
  • Do you need to slow down to 55 mph to save fuel? - Myth BUSTED over and over, yet environmental ignorants still believe driving 55 is better for your fuel economy
  • Do you need to replace your air filter? - Another Myth BUSTED. Sorry, it’s just a scam by service companies to get you to bring your vehicle in for service if you have a modern vehicle
