What is more disturbing? The fact that our soldiers teased this kid for a quarter mile with a bottle of water? Or that people are defending these actions by saying that “the face of war…” I know Iraqi vets. Every one of them is appalled by this kind of behavior.
The face of war doesn’t make you inhuman. Being an jerk who gives the rest of your team a bad reputation and marks them as targets is what makes you inhuman. These idiots have put more American soldiers at risk with their actions. This is not a matter of “the face of war” doing anything to a soldier’s psyche. This is a matter of being part of an army, a team, and protecting your follow soldiers by not needlessly agitating civilians.
Today, we have an Iraqi vet on the Jared and Dean Words Cause Radio Show who has something to say about this kind of behavior.
